De La Salle College, Mutuwal was over joyed to give a grand welcome to His Grace Archbishop Malcolm when he visited his school on 30th Oct.2009 " It is in this school I learned the first lessons and it is in this school, De La Salle Brothers helped me to discern my vocation to serve the Lord. I am truly grateful to the De La Salle College for the spiritual formation given," said Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith at the felicitation programme organized by the De Salle College, Mutuwal.

Felicitation programme was organized by the present Principal Rev. Bro. Tarcius, staff members, old boys of the College and the De La Salle Brothers.

Denzil Perera, the Provincial Visitor of the Congregation said “ Today, De La Salle College, a Lasallian institution of more than one hundred years, is privileged to welcome Your Grace, Most Rev. Dr.Malcolm Ranjith, the Archbishop of Colombo. It is indeed a singular honour to De La Salle College, when one of its past pupils enters the gates of his Alma Mater, as the Archbishop of Colombo, the highest honour and responsibility within the Archdiocese. It is also a moment of sincere joy and pride to us, De La Salle Brothers and the Lasallian Fraternity in Sri Lanka, when we see one of our old boys , elevated to this highest ecclesiastical honour in our Island.
