called to Eternal Rest in the Lord

Very Rev. Fr. Nicholas Fernando, former Vicar General of Ratnapura Diocese, was called to Eternal Rest in the Lord on 04th February 2013, at the age of 75.

His mortal remains were kept at St. Theresa's Church, Dehigahapitiya and after the Holy Mass on Monday, his mortal remains were transfered to Delathura St. Rogus Church.

Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday the 06th February 2013 at 10.30 am and the burial at the Catholic Cemetery, Delathura.

His Lordhsip Bishop Cletus Chandrasiri Perera OSB, Bishop of Ratnapura Diocese presided at the Funeral Mass together with His Lordship Bishop Raymond Wickramasinghe, Bishop of Galle, Bishop Raymond Peiris, Emeritus of Kurunegala, and other Rev. Fathers from different dioceses.

A large number of faithful participated together with the Religious and also Venerable Theros from Inter-Religious Unit of Ratnapura.
