[ Fr. Sunil De Silva -12.03.2010 ]

Sacred Relics of St. Anthony were brought to Batticaloa on 12th March in the monring His Lordship Bishop Kingsley Swampillai, the Bishop of Trinciomalee-Batticaloa and the Auxiliary Bishop His Lordship Bishop Josepph Ponniah received the Sacred Relics of St. Anthony. Thereafter Holy Mass was celebrated

At the end of the Holy Mass His Lordship Bishop Kingsley Swampillai blessed the people with the Sacred Relics.

Another Sacred Relic of St. Anthony broguth from the Basilica of Padua was handed over His Lordship Kingsley Swampillai.

On an appeal made by His Grace Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith, the Government, Defence Ministry and the Sri Lanka Air Force obliged to provide Air Lift facilities from Bandarawela to Batticaloa, from Batticaloa to Jaffna, and from Jaffna to Mannar. This gives more time for people to pray before the Sacred Relics and we very thankful to the Government and all others concerned for this help. The government has also provided maximum security to take the Sacred Relics to all other Dioceses.

Sacred Relics will be brought once again to Kochchikade St. Anthony's Shrine on 19th March 2010.
