We wish to inform the public that there is no truth whatsoever in the news item appearing in the Daily Mirror of Tuesday, 24th of August, 2010 under the heading “Appointment of Rt. Rev. Dr. Malcolm Ranjith as Cardinal” on page 03. We are surprised about this news as the visit of His Eminence Antonio Cardinal Canizares Llovera, the Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments in the Vatican, is only for the purpose of participating in a religious festival. Besides the news item says that this information was given by the Archbishop’s House. We categorically deny giving any such purported information and are completely surprised by this. |
