SOLEMN VESPERS SERVICE OF ST. ANTHONY'S SHRINE - KOCHCHIKADE

[ By Fr. Sunil De Silva - 12.06.2008 ]

His Grace the Archbishop Oswald Gomis presided at the Solemn Vespers of St. Anthony's Shrine, Kochchikade on 12th June and appealed to the faithful to forgive one and another before praying for peace.

Archbishop Gomis further said, " look at the violence and hatred engulfing the country. We come to pray for peace, but we continue to live with hatred and envy in our hearts. We implore for mercy, but we live with revengful thoughts. We ask for God's love, but continue to live wishing evil and violence on others. We say the Lord's Prayer 'Our Father' and pray that 'forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us'. Is it true that we forgive one and another, before we ask for God's forgiveness ? ".

The Administrator of St. Anthony's Shrine Rev. Fr. Clement Rozairo thanked His Grace the Archbishop Oswald Gomis for presiding as the Solemn Vespers. .
