His Grace the Archbishop Oswald Gomis presiding at the Solemn Vespers of St. Anthony's Shrine, Kochchikade on 12th June 2009 said " Even in the construction of Babel Tower, 'language' became the problem. We see the man's ambition and arragance in constructing symbols of achievements.

" Genesis Chapter 11 says “ the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.” (Genesis 11:1) Those who lived in the region Babylonia “… said one to another, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name. Their intention was to reach heaven with it and to proclaim themselves gods."

" We all belong to the Body of Christ and as members belonging to the Body of Christ, language or caste or creed should not be a barrier for us to prosper. We have had bitter and disastrous experiences in the past. We need to rise from the past and look to the future with hope. Therefore, we need to go beyond language barriers to prosper in unity." said Archbishop Gomis.
