A massive crowd gathered along the roads at Kelaniya to welcome and felicitate a son of the soil, His Grace the Archbishop Oswald Gomis, the Archbishop of Colombo, on the occasion of his Golden Jubilee of the Sacerdotal Ordination and 40th Anniversary of the Episcopal Ordination.

Priests and Religious, Venerable Buddhist Theros and distinguished guests were present to felicitate His Grace the Archbishop Oswald Gomis and to commemorate the contribution of His Grace the Archbishop to the Catholic Church and to Sri Lanka, Postal and Telecommunication Department issued a special Stamp Cover.

His Grace the Archbishop was welcome at several places along the road and was accompanied to the Pilapitiya Church in a long beautiful and colourful procession. Kelaniya faithful and the Buddhist peoples who gathered showed that they are proud to welcome His Grace and felicitate in the homeland.
